#21/13 Women's Soccer Shuts Out RV/25 Princeton in Scoreless Draw on the Road

PRINCETON, N.J. –  No. 21/13 Rutgers women's soccer played to a 0-0, double-overtime draw at RV/25 Princeton on Saturday night. Sophomore goalkeeper Meagan McClelland registered a career-high five saves, posting her fourth shutout of the season.

QUICK STATS
The match was balanced between the sides, as Princeton edged Rutgers 14-10 in shots and 6-5 in corners. The Scarlet Knights led saves 5-4 in the tie. McClelland's five saves matched her career high for the second straight game.

THE MATCH
The Scarlet Knights and Tigers began the match with an even first half. The defenses held both squads to a combined five shots through the frame.

Moving into the second stanza, Princeton found some momentum registering eight shots. However, McClelland saved the three that were on target to keep it 0-0 at the break.

The first overtime period saw Rutgers rattle off three shots, while the back line held Princeton without a single shot. Junior forward Nneka Moneme found a great attempt that would go just left of the post in the 91st minute.

The defensive battle continued into the final overtime, as either side registered three shots a piece. A shot by senior midfielder Taylor Aylmer would be the only one on target for either team in the frame.
