NEW YORK, N.Y. – Rutgers junior
Taj Burgess ran the second-fastest time in the NCAA all-time in 500-meter, highlighting the indoor debut for the men's and women's track and field team at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York.

The Scarlet Knights picked up 20 event wins, including 38 performances in the top-three. Rutgers finished 1-2-3 in the mile run on the men's side.

MEN'S RESULTS
The school record holder in the 500-meter, Burgess eclipsed that mark with a time of 1:00.80, which also set the second-fastest run all-time in the NCAA.Â

Christopher Jenkins and sophomore
Jameson Woodell took 1-2 in the 400-meter with times of 49.07 and 49.67, respectively. Sophomore
Antonio Tarantino won the 200 in 21.56 and junior
Billy Hill took first in the 800 in 1:54.26.

Cole Pschunder and
Sean Martinek finished in the top-three spots in the mile, running times of 4:13.45, 4:16.87 and 4:20.56, respectively. Sophomore
Andrew Daniluk won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.39, while a pair of 4x800-meter relay teams finished second and third.

In the field events, Rutgers won the high jump, long jump as well as the shot put and weight throw. Junior
Perry Christie won the high jump (6' 9.75"), while
Patrick Warren took first in the long jump (22' 9.25").

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Rutgers posted 10 event wins beginning with sophomore
Iyanla Kollock in the 60-meter with a time of 7.68. Sophomore
Ajae Alvarez-Tyler placed first in the 400 in 57.70, while junior
Kayla Jackson took third in 58.31.

Reanda Richards won the 500 in 1:14.24, followed by
Mackenzie Prezume who took third in 1:18.79. The Scarlet Knights went 1-3 again in the 800-meter and mile run. Sophomore
Kayla Rosario finishing first in 2:21.62, while freshman
Raelynne Miller placed third in 2:25.60 in the 800. Senior
Nadia Saponara paced Rutgers in the mile with a winning time of 5:09.82 and classmate
Emma Bergman took third in 5:17.69.

Kiera Nealon won the 3,000-meter with a time of 10:15.94. Rutgers took first in the 4x800-meter relay to round out the victories on the track. Bergman, Miller, Rosario and
Angela Kearsley outran the competition with a time of 9:25.64.

In the field events, three victories were posted in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Junior
Courteney Campbell won the high jump, clearing a height of 1.70 meters (5' 7").

Jacqueline Simmons won the long jump with a distance of 5.66 meters (18' 7"). Sophomore
Gabriela Sanchez recorded a third-place finish with a mark of 5.44 meters (17' 10.25").

Rutgers placed first and second in the triple jump led by freshman
Claudine Smith with a winning distance of 12.05 meters (39' 6.5"), followed by sophomore
Zia Barr with a mark of 11.64 meters (38' 2.25").
