Meet the Freshmen: Dean Reiber
Oct 26 | Men's Basketball
The first verbal commit in the class of 2020, Dean Reiber joins the Scarlet Knights after a successful prep career in Greenshoro, North Carolina, where he averaged 17 points and 6 rebounds in his final year at Northwest Guilford High School. The 6-10 forward possesses an all-around game, with excellent ability to handle and pass the ball and shoot from distance for a player his size.

The grandson of a Rutgers graduate chose RU over 20 other scholarship offers. A three-star prospect who was rated among the top-50 power forwards in the nation, Reiber will bring an athletic and versatile presence to the Scarlet Knights' growing stable of big men.
Dean is a 6-10 kid out of North Carolina that shoots threes. He's a really good three-pointer shooter but he can put the ball on the deck. He gives us a bit of a different dimension for a 6 foot 10 guy that we haven't had. He really can handle the ball and pass it, and stretch the defense too.Head Coach Steve Pikiell

I chose Rutgers because the coaching staff and players are some of the best people and have the best culture that I've been around. Everyone works super hard, in the weight room and on the court. It's some of the best basketball that I've ever been aroundDean Reiber
