Scarlet Knights To Meet Host Marshall Along With Bucknell

• The Rutgers softball team plays four games this weekend at the Thundering Herd Round Robin hosting by Marshall. On Saturday, the Scarlet Knights meet Bucknell at 9:30 a.m. and host Marshall at 2:30 p.m. Rutgers will also play two games on Sunday with RU taking on Bucknell at 9:30 a.m. and Marshall at 1:30 p.m.

| ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS |
- Sophomore second baseman Aleah Marra currently leads the Scarlet Knights hitting .323 (20-for-62) with eight multiple hit games. She holds a team-leading five doubles and squad second-best eight RBI.
- Grad transfer Gabrielle Callaway is batting .308 (16-for-52) and has reached base safely in the last 15 contests. The Scarlet Knight has a team second-best six runs scored and six RBI along with a .513 slugging percentage.
- Sophomore Katie Wingert and senior Anyssa liopoulos have both swung for the fences four times in 2020, with Iliopoulos leading RU with 10 runs batted in.
- Rookie Ashley Hitchcock is hitting .229, while inside the circle she is 4-3 on the season with a 3.14 ERA and 46 strikeouts. Fellow freshman Jaden Vickers, meanwhile, is holding down a 3.174 ERA with leading the pitching corps with 42.1 innings and 48 strikeouts.

- Sophomore Taylor Lane logged three stolen bases to conclude the USF Tournament on March 1 in RU's 5-1 win over Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
- The three stolen bases were the most by a Scarlet Knight since Loren Williams stole a trio of bases against Iona on April 7, 2011.

- Sophomore Katie Wingert and senior Anyssa Iliopoulos are tied for fifth in the Big Ten with four home runs each.
- Second-year Scarlet Knight Aleah Marra is among the top 20 in the league in batting (.317) and is tied for 10th in doubles (5), stands fourth in total bases (30) and checks in tied for 10th in sac bunts (2).
- Freshman Payton Lincavage is also tied with Marra for 10th in the league in doubles (5) and is second in sac bunts (4).
- Taylor Lane, who recorded three stolen bases in the 5-1 win over TAMCC, is tied for sixth in the category with six bases taken.
- Freshman pitcher Ashley Hitchcock is third in total appearances (15) and ninth in batters striking out looking (14).
| RECAPPING LAST WEEKEND |
- The Scarlet Knights left the Sunshine State with a 2-3 record at the USF Tournament, which included a pair of wins over Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.
- Freshman third baseman Payton Lincavage finished the weekend hitting .429 (6-for-14) with two doubles, a home run, two RBI and a pair of runs scored.
- On the mound, freshman Ashley Hitchcock went 1-1 in four appearances tossing 12.2 innings allowing only four hits and striking out 14.
- After earning a pair of wins over Syracuse in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge earlier in the season, the Orange edged RU in its first game with graduate student Kiana Workman going 2-for-3 at the plate and scoring the Scarlet Knights' run in the setback.
- Host USF bested the Scarlet Knights, 2-0, with Rutgers able to get six hits - including a pair by sophomore Aleah Marra and freshman Aleeah Randazzo - against the Bulls' Second Team All-American and British National Team member.
- Rutgers went 1-1 the following day going into the win column with a 3-2 victory over Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Senior Anyssa Iliopoulos hit her fourth home run of the year against the Islanders and Lincavage went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored.
- While the Scarlet Knights jumped out with a four-run lead in the top of the first the rematch with the Orange, Syracuse poured in seven runs with their run at-bat to control the game. Both Lincavage and graduate student Gabrielle Callaway hit home runs picking up two RBI a piece.
- Rutgers ended tournament play on a high note with a 5-1 victory in its second game with TAMCC. Taylor Lane scored two runs, while classmate Aleah Marra and graduate student Kiana Workman both registered two RBI each.

- Rutgers last faced the Thundering Herd during the playback round of the National Invitational Softball Championship hosted by Liberty.
- The Scarlet Knights ended the 2019 season at 29-26 following the 4-0 setback after surrendering three runs in the top of the first. Current Scarlet Knights Katie Wingert and Aleah Marra both picked up hits in the loss.
- Marshall enters this year's contest at 15-5 having won seven straight including a pair of wins over Akron on Wednesday.
- Junior infielder Aly Harrell is hitting .509 (27-for-52) on the year with six doubles, five home runs and 22 RBI. Junior infielder Saige Pye, meanwhile, is .446 (29-for-65) at the plate with six doubles and five home runs as well to go along with 20 RIB. Sophomore pitcher Mya Stevenson is the other member of the Thundering Herd hitting over .400 on the season checking in at .403 from the plate (25-for-62) with a team-leading nine home runs and .919 slugging percentage.
- Inside the circle, Marshall is led by freshman Ashley Blessin who is 5-0 in her 12 appearances with a 3.03 ERA, two shutouts and 22 strikeouts. Junior Laney Jones, meanwhile, leads the Herd in innings pitched (57.1) with a 3.17 ERA and 8-1 record along with 55 strikeouts.
| ABOUT BUCKNELL |
- The Bison enter the weekend round robin at 6-8 overall and have dropped five-straight including contests with the Big Ten's Indiana and ACC's North Carolina State at last weekend's Fairfield Crabtree Invitational.
- At the plate, Bucknell is led by sophomore outfielder Allyse Vope, who is batting .372 with a team-leading 16 hits and second-best nine runs scored along with five RBI.
- Sophomore catcher/infielder Nicole Rivait is second offensively hitting .324 with 12 hits, four doubles and squad second-best eight RBI.
- Inside the circle, freshman Kaiya Burton holds a 2.90 ERA and 2-1 record in six appearances. In her 29.0 innings pitched, she has captured two complete games and 37 strikeouts.
- Senior Raeanne Geffert, meanwhile, has a 2.91 ERA and 4-6 record in 11 appearances. Over her 53.0 innings thrown, she has collected six complete games and 80 strikeouts.
