Sun Hwang Signs with Women’s Golf

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Women's golf announced today that Sun Hwang has signed to compete at Rutgers University. A transfer from Florida Southern who hails from Fort Lee, New Jersey, Hwang will have three years of eligibility for the Scarlet Knights.
As a rookie at Florida Southern in 2019-20, Hwang finished her first collegiate season with a 76.90 average over four events and 10 rounds. Her rookie resume includes two top-15 individual finishes at the World Golf Invitational and at the Battle at Old South last September.
One of the top scholastic golfers in the Garden State prior to her arrival at Florida Southern, Hwang was two-time first team all-state selection and a three-time all-county honoree at Fort Lee High School. Hwang earned three consecutive team MVP awards, and captured the Bergen County Championship in 2017. Hwang also played on events in the NJPGA Jr., AJGA, and USGA circuits, and was a five-time tournament winner in NJPGA Jr. events.
Hwang is the second collegiate transfer to join the program in as many weeks, joining graduate transfer Manon Tounalom who arrives after a standout collegiate career at Ball State. One of the top individuals in Cardinals' history, Tounalom owns the second-best career scoring average at Ball State with a 76.89 mark.
