PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis was named an All-Academic Team by the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) for the 2019-20 academic year. It marks the seventh consecutive year the Scarlet Knights have earned the recognition and 12th time in the last 15 seasons.
"I am extremely proud of our team's success in the classroom," said fourth-year Head Coach Hilary Ritchie. "Each of our student-athletes places a priority on their coursework and it shows. I also applaud how they were able to adapt last semester in transitioning to online learning."
Individually, Jaci Cochrane, Isabelle Da Silva, Sydney Jones, Kat Muzik and Kristiana Zahare each earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Cochrane leads the group as a four-time honoree.
Rutgers academic recognition is in addition to seven Scarlet Knights earning Academic All-Big Ten status this spring, including Jaci Cochrane, Isabelle Da Silva, Tess Fisher, Maya Jacobs, Kat Muzik, Kyra Yap and Kristiana Zahare. Da Silva and Yap were also named Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for their scholastic achievements.
