PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's golf announced its competition schedule for the 2021 season. After its 2020 fall campaign was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Scarlet Knights will compete in seven tournaments and the Big Ten Championships, held from April 23-25 at TPC River's Ben in Maineville, Ohio.
RU opens its season at the Texas State Invitational from Feb. 8-9 in Kyle, Texas, and closes the month at the Reynold Lake Oconee Invitational from Feb. 19-21 in Greensboro, Georgia. Rutgers is set for four tournaments in March, which include the River Landing Classic (March 8-9) in Wallace, N.C., the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate (March 14-16) in New Orleans, the Pinetree Invitational in Kennesaw, Georgia and the Pinehurst Intercollegiate (March 29-30) in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The Scarlet Knights close out the regular season at the Indiana Invitational from April 17-18 in Bloomington.
Under the direction of head coach Kari Williams, Rutgers welcomes back six student-athletes from last year's squad that produced the second-lowest team scoring average in program history at 300.85 before the 2019-20 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also one of the top academic teams in the country, the Scarlet Knights were recognized as a Top 25 academic program by the WGCA for the fourth consecutive year.
Rutgers recently announced the opening of its state-of-the-art indoor facility – the Class of 1957 Indoor Golf Training Center – in time for the 2021 spring semester. Located inside the College Avenue Gym in New Brunswick, two-room facility features indoor putting space with Envyscapes turf and a hitting bay with Swing Catalyst technology, allowing student-athletes from both teams to train year-round.
