Women’s Golf Finishes Action at Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rutgers women's golf closed out action at the Buckeye Invitational on Saturday in Columbus. The Scarlet Knights finished ninth in the 14-team field, which featured six ranked teams and five Big Ten programs.
Battling strong wind gusts, sophomore Joline Truong tied for 26th, while classmate Judy Amano finished 35th to pace RU at the Ohio State University Golf Course.
"This was not the performance we were expecting this weekend," said head coach Kari Williams. "We struggled to get ourselves in position and missing the fairways was punishing because of the thick rough and did not roll in many putts. We have had a great spring far and we will get ourselves back on track this week before teeing it up at Big Tens."
RU tallied a 72-over-par 936 (307-313-316) across its three rounds. Host Ohio State won the team title with a 26-over-par 890 (295-294-301), followed by No. 25 Iowa State (+28) and No. 30 Kent State (+30). Xavier's Madison Reemsnyder captured the individual crown with a three-under-par 213 (73-72-68).
