Ron Harper Jr. Named to Julius Erving Award Top Ten Watch List

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's basketball junior Ron Harper Jr. was named as one of the top-10 candidates for the 2021 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award.
Through 13 games, Harper Jr. averages 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He is shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 40.2 percent from three-point distance. He ranks in the top-10 in the Big Ten in scoring and three-point percentage.
The Franklin Lakes, N.J. native has scored in double-figures 12 times, including five games of 20+ points. The Don Bosco Prep product set a career-high with 12 rebounds Sunday versus Indiana in his second double-double of the season.
Harper Jr. has received a host of accolades this season, placing him among the nation's best players. He is also on the Watch List for the Wooden Award, one of 25 players listed for the nation's top player. He is also listed for the Lute Olson Award, was named a mid-season All-American by College Hoops Today and ranked as the No. 20 player in the nation mid-season by ESPN.com. Prior to the season, he was named the top defensive player in the Big Ten in preseason by Lindy's Sports.
