Men's Basketball Season Opener Sold Out

Sell-Out Against Lehigh Continues Rutgers' Sell-Out Streak, Reaching 10 consecutive sellouts

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's basketball has sold out of tickets for the season opener against Lehigh on Wednesday, November 10. Head coach Steve Pikiell made the announcement at the program's local media day on Friday, as Rutgers has now sold out a program record 10 consecutive games dating back to the 2019-20 season.

Rutgers has already announced three sell-outs this week, the first week that single game tickets have been on sale. Home games against Michigan and Michigan State are also sold out.

The team's success on the court has garnered great interest from the fan base. The program has sold over 5,000 season tickets with nearly 1,000 new season ticket holders added since the 2019-20 season.

With three games already sold out, tickets are moving fast. Fans are encouraged to act fast to secure tickets, with especially low availability for games against Wisconsin, Penn State and Nebraska, as well as the contest against Merrimack as RU looks to extend the sell-out streak to 11 games.

Fans still looking for tickets to sold-out games can do so via StubHub, the official fan-to-fan ticket marketplace of the Scarlet Knights. Season ticket and multi-game packages are still available for purchase. Student tickets will be available to claim at a later date.

Head Coach Steve Pikiell has completed a tremendous rebuild of the Rutgers program, as the Scarlet Knights are coming off of the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1991. Rutgers defeated No. 7 seed Clemson for the team's first NCAA Tournament victory in 38 years, dating back to 1983. Rutgers has had back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1990-91 and 1991-92 and won double-digit conference games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1989-90 and 1990-91.

The Scarlet Knights went 16-12 overall, posting a KenPom ranking of 38 and NET ranking of 40. The team spent 11 weeks nationally ranked or receiving votes in the AP Poll, peaking at No. 11 in the nation. In the regular season, RU earned wins over five teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament - No. 1 seed Illinois, No. 4 seed Purdue, No. 10 seed Maryland, No. 11 seed Michigan State and No. 11 seed Syracuse. The Scarlet Knights then defeated No. 7 seed Clemson in the opening round, the highest seeded team defeated in the NCAA Tournament since 1979, before falling to an eventual Final Four team in No. 2 seed Houston. Rutgers led the Big Ten in blocked shots, finishing ninth nationally with 5.1 blocks per game.
