COLUMBUS, Ohio – It was another top 25 battle for the Rutgers volleyball team on Saturday night. In fact, it was RU's sixth matchup with a top 25 program in its last eight contests. While the Scarlet Knights and No. 7 Buckeyes went thru six ties in the second set, the closest of the night, it was host Ohio State on top taking the 3-0 (13-25, 20-25, 6-25) victory.

- Set 1 (13-25) | The Buckeyes scored the opening frame's first eight points to kick off the night en route to hitting .443 for the match. Twice the Scarlet Knights whittled the advantage down to five, including a Megan Vernon attack that saw RU down 12-7.
- Set 2 (20-25) | Ohio State and Rutgers were tied six times and managed to lead the Buckeyes twice. OSU opened with another run scoring the first four points, but the Scarlet Knights battled back with a 6-1 run. The Buckeyes committed three errors during the spurt leading to a 6-5 Rutgers lead. An ace from Anastasiia Maksimova tied the set up a final time at 16-16 with Ohio State following with four straight kills en route to closing out the set outscoring RU, 9-4.
- Set 3 (6-25) | The hosts hit a blistering .583 in the frame. After leading 5-2, the Buckeyes scored the next 18 straight points on their way to the sweep.

- Rutgers volleyball remains on the road next week.
- The Scarlet Knights will be at Maryland on Wednesday, Oct. 20 to meet up with the Terps on BTN at 6 p.m. and also wrap up the season series with Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m.
