PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 12 Rutgers wrestling (6-0) swept its weekend road quad with wins over Clarion (27-10), Davidson (35-6) and UT-Chattanooga (39-3) on Saturday in Davidson, North Carolina. The Scarlet Knights won 25 out of 30 individual matchups to open the 2021-22 campaign 6-0 in dual action.
 
No. 5 John Poznanski (184), No. 13 Sammy Alvarez (133), No. 26 Dylan Shawver (125), and No. 27 Michael VanBrill (149) all went 3-0 on Saturday, while No. 4 Sebastian Rivera (141), No. 14 Greg Bulsak (197) and No. 29 Boone McDermott (HWT) went 2-0 on the day. Poznanski and VanBrill collected ranked victories, as VanBrill worked a 7-1 decision over No. 23 Brent Moore (Clarion), while Poznanski fought for an 8-4 decision over No. 30 Matthew Waddell (UT-Chattanooga).
