Wrestling Rankings Update: Week 6

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Off to its first 10-0 start in program history, Rutgers wrestling remains as high as No. 12 in the country after the sixth week of the 2021-22 season. The Scarlet Knights are No. 12 by both the NWCA and Intermat, are No. 13 by WIN Magazine and No. 15 by FloWrestling.
For the second consecutive week, nine out of 10 weights are ranked for RU, which includes five who appear in both polls from Intermat and FloWrestling.
Five ranked Scarlet Knights own undefeated records during the dual season - Dylan Shawver (125), Sebastian Rivera (141), Michael VanBrill (149), John Poznanski (184) and Greg Bulsak (197). Poznanski and Rivera own top-five rankings. Rivera is as No. 3 (FloWrestling, The Open Mat and WIN Magazine), while Poznanski is the consensus No. 5 wrestler in the country at his weight.
Sammy Alvarez (133) and Jackson Turley (174) are both No. 10 in their respective weight classes by WIN Magazine. Bulsak is No. 12 by WIN Magazine, while VanBrill moved to No. 20 in Intermat's latest rankings. Shawver, Robert Kanniard (157) and Boone McDermott (HWT) also own at least one national ranking.
Rutgers gets a few weeks off from competition before it heads to the prestigious 2021 Midlands Championships from Dec. 29-30 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
