PISCATAWAY, N.J. –  Following a season-opening win at home, Rutgers women's soccer is set for two Big Ten trips this week. The Scarlet Knights first travel to Indiana on Thursday, Feb. 25 for a 1 p.m. match before visiting Purdue on Sunday, Feb. 28 for a 12 p.m. contest.

RUTGERS QUICK KICKS 
(1-0, 1-0 Big Ten)

• Rutgers opened the 2021 season on Friday with a 3-2 victory over Penn State.
• Senior forward Amirah Ali was named the National Player of the Week and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after recording two back-to-back goals in the come-from-behind win. The 2020-21 MAC Hermann recorded the game winner, moving into fifth all-time on the RU career charts with 11 career game winners and sixth all-time with 27 career goals overall.
• Rookie forward Sam Kroeger was tabbed the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, recording a goal and assist in her first collegiate start and debut for Rutgers.
• Nine Scarlet Knights made their debuts on Friday, including starts for graduate transfer Adriana Kuryla and freshmen Sam Kroeger, Becci Fluchel, Sara Brocious, and Emma Misal. Rookies Emily Sapienze, Giana Romano, Julianne Leskauskas all clocked their first collegiate minutes.
• Rutgers is receiving votes in the Top Drawer Soccer rankings. The official United Soccer Coaches rankings were posted as final following the 2020 fall season.
