MADISON, WISC. – The Rutgers volleyball team battled the No.1 team in the nation on Friday night falling 3-0 (18-25, 20-25, 16-25) to the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers.
With the loss, the Scarlet Knights fall to 1-4 on the year, while Wisconsin remains undefeated at 5-0.Â

- Senior Kamila Cieslik hit .471 with 10 kills to lead the offense while also adding six digs
- Reigning Big Ten Setter of the Week junior Inna Balyko made 23 assists
- At the net, redshirt junior Shealyn McNamara registered a trio of blocks.
- Set 1 (18-25) | Rutgers opened the match with a 5-0 lead on the nation's top team. However, the Badgers responded with seven unanswered. Cieslik, who captured kills on four of her five attempts in the set, brought the Scarlet Knights as close as 15-13.
- Set 2 (20-25) | Kojadinovic added four kills and a service ace to lead RU in the closest set of the night. The set was knotted at 3-3, when Badger blocking helped put Wisconsin ahead.
- Set 3 (16-25) | The Scarlet Knights opened with a 3-0 edge. The final frame was tied twice early before a pair of kills from Molly Haggerty gave Wisconsin the lead. The Badgers, who checked into the game with the nation's third-best and league's top hitting percentage at a .367 clip, hit just .179 in the final set.
