STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Rutgers volleyball was unable to overcome the hot-hitting hosts dropping a 11-25, 20-25, 16-25 matchup with No. 12 Penn State at Rec Hall on Saturday night.

STANDOUT STATS

Senior Kamila Cieslik led Rutgers on the offense for the second-straight contest hitting .500 with nine kills.
Cieslik and fellow classmate Beka Kojadinovic both had eight digs each.
Kojadinovic also added a pair of service aces.
Junior Inna Balyko collected 16 assists for the Scarlet Knights.

KEY MOMENTS

Set 1 (11-25) | The Scarlet Knights were unable to overcome the Lady Lions who came out swinging .536 for the frame. Penn State closed out the stanza outscoring RU, 14-3.
Set 2 (20-25) | Rutgers was able to take a 12-9 lead off four kills from Cieslik. A 4-1 run tied the score up at 13-13 when the Lady Lions registered seven-straight to claim the lead. The Scarlet Knights used a late 5-2 surge to close the gap to 24-20 before PSU collected set point.
Set 3 (16-25) | Penn State hit .500 in the final set and opened by taking an 11-5 lead. Freshman Stella Antypa, meanwhile, started the set and captured five kills on eight attempts, her first Scarlet Knight points.

UP NEXT

Rutgers returns home to the College Ave Gym to host No. 10 Purdue on Friday, Mar. 19 and Saturday, Mar. 20. Both contests serve up action at 4 p.m. Attendance is limited to four tickets allotted to each coach and student-athlete for family members only.
