PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Following a ranked road win over No. 14 Johns Hopkins last Saturday, Rutgers men's lacrosse earned a Big Ten weekly award as
Kieran Mullins was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Mullins had a game-high eight points on five goals and three assists. The Islip, N.Y. native was clutch down the stretch for RU as the team finished the game on a 5-0 run to ice the victory, as he either scored or assisted on each of the last five goals.
With the eight points, Mullins surpassed the 200-point milestone for his career. Mullins now has 112 goals and 94 assists for 206 career points, which is the third most points all-time at Rutgers.
On the season, Mullins has 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points through five games. He is second in the conference with 2.8 assists per game and fourth with 5.4 points per game.
Mullins earns his fifth career Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor. He is the third different Rutgers attackman to earn a Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
The Scarlet Knights are up to fifth in the national rankings. RU will face No. 3 Maryland in a top-3 showdown, Sunday at noon, nationally televised on ESPNU.
