
Awa Sidibe Signs With Rutgers Women’s Basketball

Junior college All-American guard has averaged 15.6 points and 5.9 rebounds over two seasons
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's basketball head coach C. Vivian Stringer announced today the signing of junior college All-American Awa Sidibe.
Sidibe, a 5-foot-11 guard is a two-time reigning Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Year for Salt Lake Community College in Utah. The Bamako, Mali native averaged 17.1 points and 6.3 rebounds this season, which ended with Salt Lake claiming its eighth consecutive SWAC regular season title. She has scored 735 points over her two seasons in junior college for 15.6 per contest.
Following her freshman season, she was named a National Junior College Athletic Association Second Team All-American and the WBCA NJCAA Player of the Year with 14.2 points per game. She led her squad to the Region 18 Tournament championship and claimed MVP honors for the event.
Sidibe also excels in the classroom as a member of the SLCC Dean's List.
