Gotterup Set for 2021 NCAA Kingston Springs East Regional

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior Christopher Gotterup will compete at the 2021 NCAA Kingston Springs East Regional, held from May 17-19 at the Golf Club of Tennessee., a Par 71, 7,074-yard venue. It marks the first time Rutgers men's golf will be represented in NCAA postseason play since the program qualified as a team for the NCAA East Regional in 2005.
Gotterup is one of 10 individuals selected for the Kingston Springs Regional, which also features 13 full teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals, held May 28-June 2 at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The opening round is set for 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday. Gotterup is paired with Garrett Giles (Iona) and Evan Davis (Belmont) and will tee off at 10:20 a.m. ET on hole No. 1
A three-time All-Big Ten selection, Gotterup wrapped up the spring with a tied-for-sixth result at the 2021 Big Ten Championships this past weekend in Carmel, Indiana – highlighted by his tournament-low four-under-par 68 in the final round to secure second-team all-conference recognition. Gotterup also earned first-team laurels last spring and second-team accolades as a sophomore in 2019. The Little Silver, New Jersey, native was named the Big Ten Conference Player of the Year as a junior in 2020 and also collected the league's Les Bolstad Award, given to the lowest conference stroke average that season.
One of the top individuals in the country, Gotterup is currently ranked No. 31 in the latest PGA Tour University rankings. The senior finished the spring with 12 rounds of even or under-par golf and three top-10 individual results, which included his runner-up result at the Schenkel Invitational, his third-place finish at the Rutherford Intercollegiate and his tied-for-sixth performance at the Big Ten Championships. Gotterup was named Big Ten Player of the Week after his second-place finish at the Schenkel Invitational, where he produced a season-low five-under-par 211 (71-69-71).
