Newest Scarlet Knight Joins Rutgers after transfer from LSU
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's basketball welcomed the newest member of the program with the addition of Aundre Hyatt as a transfer from LSU. A native of The Bronx, N.Y., the 6-7 forward returns home to join the Scarlet Knights with three seasons of eligibility remaining.
"We are thrilled to officially welcome Aundre Hyatt to the Rutgers Basketball family," head coach Steve Pikiell said. "Aundre is a versatile and talented player who is fired up to come back to his home area and help Rutgers Basketball continue our ascension in the Big Ten Conference. His multi-positional skillset is a perfect fit for our playing style and his experience competing and winning at a high level for one of the top programs in the SEC will be a great addition to our locker room. Off the court, Aundre is a mature and focused student-athlete who prioritizes academics and community relations. Aundre is a young man that Rutgers Nation will love both on and off the court."

Prior to Rutgers:
- Spent three seasons at LSU, redshirting as a true freshman
- Played in 53 games over last two seasons with 17 starts
- As a Redshirt Sophomore this past season, Hyatt appeared in 24 games with 15 starts for an LSU squad that earned a No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament
- Hyatt helped lead his team to an appearance in the SEC championship game where he posted eight points and eight rebounds against SEC champion and future NCAA Tournament No. 2 seed Alabama
- Hyatt shined in LSU's 1st round NCAA Tournament win over St. Bonaventure, posting a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while adding four blocks and two assists
- Averaged 7.7 points and 7.0 rebounds over final three games of the season, averaging 29.6 minutes per game over that span and shooting 45 percent from the field
- Played for the Miller School in Charlottesville, Virginia for final two high school seasons
- Led team at 18 points per game with 8.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals
- Led team to 27-4 record in 2018, winning state championship
- State player of the year in 2018
- Named to Dean's List as a junior and a senior
- Four-star prospect as a recruit … ranked among Rivals' Top 100 players in 2019 rankings, top-60 in his class as a junior
- Began high school career at Archbishop Stepinac in White Plains, NY
- Native of the Bronx, N.Y.
- Parents are Nickeisha Nicholson and Linval Hyatt. Has one sibling: Samoye Sharpe
- One of six student-athletes at LSU on the executive committee for the schools Black Student-Athlete Association
