Women’s Lacrosse Standout Naslonski Returns for 2022 Season

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse standout Taralyn Naslonski will return for the 2022 season, announced today by head coach Melissa Lehman. A 2021 All-Big Ten selection, Naslonski helped the Scarlet Knights to one of their best seasons in program history this past spring, which included the team's first ever NCAA tournament victory.
Naslonski earned her bachelor's degree in communication from the University this past spring and will pursue a master's degree in communication and media this scholastic year.
"Rutgers University has always held a special place in my heart," Naslonski said. "Competing in one of the best athletic conference while receiving a high-level education is something I am forever grateful for."
"We are thrilled to have TT back for another year in a Scarlet Knight uniform," Lehman said. "TT bleeds Rutgers' red and has so much pride for this team and University. After an impressive senior season where she elevated her game to scorer and assister, I am excited to see what TT accomplishes with this group in her fifth year."
One of the most prolific scorers in program history, Naslonski finished as the team's leader in points (57) and assists (23) to go along with 34 goals this past spring. The Randolph, New Jersey, native scored the 100th goal of her career earlier this season and currently owns 176 career points, good for sixth all time at Rutgers. A second team All-Big Ten selection, Naslonski was the team's leading scorer in both NCAA Tournament games, which included seven points on four goals and three assists in RU's first-round victory over No. 10 Drexel. Naslonski also earned 2021 IWLCA All-Region honors and finished as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.
The Randolph, New Jersey, native has appeared in 58 career games at Rutgers and owns career totals of 176 points, 121 goals, 55 assists, 70 draw controls, 41 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Naslonski posted a career-high 60 points as a sophomore in 2019, the most for and individual since the 2010 season.
Rutgers returns its top five scorers from last season, including All-American Cassidy Spilis and All-Region selection Marin Hartshorn. Along with its NCAA Tournament success, the 2021 squad picked up their first ever wins over Big Ten Conference foes Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Penn State and advanced to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals for just the second time since they began league play in 2015. After it entered the rankings for the first time since 2013 earlier this season, RU spent the final 11 weeks in the coaches' poll, with its No. 14 ranking its highest since the 2010 campaign.
