PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Scarlet Knights took a tough loss on the road to the Penn State Nittany Lions on Tuesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.
RU shot 33.9 percent on (19-56) shooting from the field. Penn State capitalized on the Scarlet Knights' slow start and jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first half. The Scarlet Knights were able to hang around and cut the lead to four points with 15 minutes left in the game. Penn State took back the momentum in the last ten minutes of the second half to push the lead back to double digits.
Penn State guard Sam Sessions was the games' leading-scorer with 17 points. He was 7-of-10 from the field and sealed the game with a few three-point shots late in the second half.
Guard Jalen Pickett led the way for the Nittany Lions early and finished with 15 points on the night. Big man John Harrar had 16 points and six boards, while shooting 6-of-8 from the field. Forward Seth Lundy added 10 points, four rebounds, three blocks and a steal in the defeat.
Rutgers was out-rebounded 41-33 and Penn State had 18 points off of turnovers. The Nittany Lions had 30 points in the paint compared to 20 for Rutgers and had 19 points accumulated by their bench.

Clifford Omoruyi led the way for the Scarlet Knights with 12 points and 12 rebounds in the game.

Ron Harper Jr. combined for 14 points in the matchup. Baker's three field goals helped him pass Rick Shields for 15
th on RU's all-time field goals made list. Baker's one steal tied him with Rick Dadika for seventh on RU's all-time steals list.

Paul Mulcahy had six points, four assists and two rebounds.
The Scarlet Knights are now (34-43) all-time and (6-9) against the Nittany Lions as members of the Big Ten.
Rutgers will head on the road for back-to-back bus trips to take on the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday in College Park at 2:00 p.m.
