PISCATAWAY, N.J. – LB
Tyreek Maddox-Williams is headed to California to participate in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl set for Jan. 29 at the Rose Bowl. The Rutgers football product is a five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
The game will broadcast on NFL Network at 6 p.m. ET.
Maddox-Williams is the fifth Scarlet Knight to earn an invite to a postseason all-star game, joining LB
Tyshon Fogg (Tropical Bowl), WR
Bo Melton (Reese's Senior Bowl), RB
Isaih Pacheco (Hula Bowl, East-West Shrine Bowl) and LS
Billy Taylor (East-West Shrine Bowl).
Maddox-Williams finished his collegiate career with 206 tackles, 14 for loss, nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 52 games. The linebacker made 27 starts, collecting a career-high 12 stops in the 2020 finale versus Nebraska.
From Philadelphia and a graduate of Timber Creek High School in New Jersey, Maddox-Williams is working towards a master's degree in labor studies and employment relations.
The NFLPA Collegiate Bowl has taken place since 2012. Past Scarlet Knights to earn invites include DB Damon Hayes (2020), OL Kamaal Seymour (2020) and Quentin Gause (2016).
