Osh Brown’s season-high 24 and Tyia Singleton’s double-double lead the way

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's basketball (7-13, 0-8) rallied for 23 fourth-quarter points in a tight, 80-71 loss to No. RV/25 Ohio State (15-3, 7-2) on Sunday afternoon at Jersey Mike's Arena.

An 8-0 Rutgers run in the fourth quarter brought a once-14-point deficit down to four with 1:55 to play before the Buckeyes got a three-point play, then another two free throws from Jacy Sheldon, who had 32 on Sunday.

Osh Brown netted a season-high 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting with eight rebounds. Tyia Singleton grabbed her second double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 boards, adding two steals and two blocks defensively, while Lasha Petree added 18 points with a 7-of-9 mark from the free throw line.

The Scarlet Knights outshot nationally-ranked Ohio State 51 percent to 41, but the Buckeyes used a 31-16 margin in points off turnovers and scored 17 second-chance points to secure the road win and snap a three-game Rutgers winning streak in the head-to-head series.

Rutgers also had an 8-0 run bridging halftime with Shug Dickson's layup with seven seconds left before the break and Singleton and Dickson going back-to-back to open scoring in the third quarter as Rutgers kept it close down 38-36.
