COLUMBUS, Ohio - It was Rutgers volleyball's third top 10 Big Ten match-up of the season on Saturday at the Covelli Center with the Scarlet Knights falling 25-13, 25-15, 25-14 to No. 6 Ohio State in their lone meeting with the Buckeyes this year.

STANDOUT STATS

Freshman Taylor Humphrey collected her seventh game with double-digit kills and second against a top-10 program with a team-leading 10 kills to go along with seven digs.
Madyson Chitty notched a team-high 11 digs.
Redshirt junior Lauren DeLo captured 25 assists and also had eight digs along with sophomore Lucy Malone.
Graduate student Megan Vernon led RU at the net with four blocks, while DeLo and Humphrey added three apiece.

KEY MOMENTS

SET 1 (13-25) | It was an 8-2 Buckeye burst that gave the hosts control of the first set with an 11-5 lead. Rutgers put together a run of three straight off Kristina Grkovic, Taylor Humphrey, Megan Vernon and Lauren DeLo teaming up at the net and one of the Buckeyes' six attack errors to trail 16-11. The hosts, however, closed on a 9-2 run including six unanswered. Grkovic led RU with three kills on four of her attacks while Vernon and Humphrey had a pair of block assists.
SET 2 (15-25) | A successful challenge by Rutgers resulted in the Buckeyes getting credited for an attack error to knot the score at 7-7. However, Ohio State produced a 5-1 run for a 12-8 lead to follow. While a Bekah Williams swing had RU down 10-8, the Buckeyes would score a pair of points for every Scarlet Knight score extending its advantage to 22-12. Humphrey added four kills in the fame while Vernon added another pair of blocks.
SET 3 (14-25) | Humphrey posted another four kills joining Lucy Malone and Madyson Chitty with five digs apiece in the final set. The Buckeyes opened with a 10-3 lead but the Scarlet Knights went point-for-point with Ohio State over the next 11 services. Rutgers trailed 15-9 when the Buckeyes scored five straight including a trio of kills by Gabby Gonzalez to go up 20-9. From there it was point-for-point again until the final set score.
