Swimming & Diving Goes To The Podium Four More Times & Sets Another School Record On Day Three Of B1G Championships

MADISON, Wisc. – Seven more Scarlet Knights reached finals of the Big Ten Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday night with four podium finishes. Rutgers women's swimming & diving had two finalists on 3M, an A finalist in the 200 free, B finalists in the 200 free and 200 breast and C finalists in the 100 back 400 IM.
Rutgers had a trio of eighth place performances, established another new Rutgers record in the 200 free and B cut was captured in the 100 breast.
The Scarlet Knights remain in seventh place having totaled 330 points. Thru day three of the Big Ten Championships, Rutgers has reached the podium eight times and broken six school records.

| DIVING |
- Rutgers sent two Scarlet Knights to the podium in a diving event for the first time ever.
- Abigail Knapton was sixth after prelims with a score of 326.70 and moved up to fourth in finals. Her final six dives totaled a score of 359.10 marking the second-highest score in Rutgers history.
- Savana Trueb was seventh after prelims scoring 326.10 and ended finals in eighth place with a score of 315.80.
| SPRINTS |
- Alice Scarabelli broke teammate Sofia Chichaikina's 200 free relay from record from Wednesday night with the prelims top time 1:45.67. The graduate student went on to place eighth with a finals time of 1:46.72.
- Chichaikina made a B finals appearance in the 200 free taking sixth in the consolation final and 14th overall in 1:47.43.
- Scarabelli also raced in the C final of the 100 back finishing eighth in the heat and 24th overall recording a time of 55.10.
- Tina Celik made her way to the B finals of the 100 breast hitting the wall in 1:01.35 in prelims for a new personal best and NCAA B cut. She placed eighth in the consolation final heat and 16th overall finishing in 1:01.73.
- During 200 free prelims, Rutgers also saw a PR from Yael Weber in 1:57.51 and a season best out of Giulia Ghidini in 1:50.54.
- Prelim racing in the 100 back saw Eleonora Trentin and Natalie Schick each captured PRs clocking in at 55.53 and 56.01 respectively.
| RELAYS |
- A Rutgers relay captured a top eight performance for the fourth time at the championships.
- The 200 free relay was .12 seconds off school record in taking eighth. The squad of Sofia Lobova, Sofia Chichaikina, Giulia Ghidini and Eleonora Trentin came in at a time of 1:30.45.

- Katie Dougherty made her first Big Ten final qualifying for C finals in the 400 IM in 4:22.79. She went on to place eighth in her finals heat and 24th overall with a season-best 4:20.86.
- A season-best was also registered by Cat Salladin in the 400 IM prelims in 4:22.85.
| KNIGHT NOTES |
- Rutgers' eight total podium finishes heading into the final day of competition marks the most by the Scarlet Knights since joining the Big Ten in 2014. It surpasses the previous mark of seven in 2016.
- Alice Scarabelli made Rutgers' first-ever Big Ten 200 free final, while the 200 free relay team reached the podium for the second time.
