No. 24 Gymnastics Visits No. 20 Illinois on Friday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 24 Rutgers gymnastics travels to No. 20 Illinois for a Big Ten dual meet on Friday, February 25. Start time is set for 8 p.m. ET live on Big Ten Network+. Follow @RUGymnastics on Twitter for live score updates from the meet.
Rutgers recorded its highest score at a Big Five meet, posting a team total of 195.475. Junior Hannah Joyner led RU with third place finishes in the all-around (39.250) and on beam (9.900). Sophomore Calah Newman finished fourth in the all-around with a career-high 38.975. The meet also featured No. 14 Michigan State, No. 6 Minnesota, Nebraska, and Penn State.
The team total topped RU's score of 195.225 at last year's Big Five Meet, which then marked the Scarlet Knights' highest total at the annual conference meet.
The Scarlet Knights jumped into the national rankings, standing at No. 24 in this week's standings. It marks the first time RU has been ranked since 2014, when its last ranking was No. 25 in January of that season. The team climbed as high as No. 16 that year, advancing to the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2007.
As a team, RU ranks in the top 20 on vault (No. 22), beam (No. 20) and floor (No. 17) this season. Graduate Belle Huang stands at No. 6 in the nation on floor, maintaining a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.920 in the event. Joyner ranks 13th in the nation on beam with an NQS of 9.890 and 21st in the all-around with an NQS of 38.985.
Joyner posted a third-place finish on beam with a 9.900 at the Big Five meet, reaching the mark for the fifth time this season. The school record holder in the event has reached a beam score of 9.9 or higher 18 times in her career, the most of any Scarlet Knight gymnast.
The Waldorf, Maryland, native also finished third in the all-around, recording a 39.250. Joyner, the first in school history to eclipse a 9.9 on all four events, holds the most scores of 9.9 or above with a total of 23 in her career.
TEAM TOTAL SCORES
Rutgers has recorded four top 10 scores in program history this season. The Scarlet Knights posted a season-high 195.950 in its home quad meet with No. 17 Iowa, Kent State, and Ursinus, marking the fifth-best score in program history and the fourth-best score at home.
RU registered a 195.750 at Ohio State, marking the now eighth highest mark overall and fourth best road score. RU notched a 195.675 in its home tri meet with No. 1 Michigan and Alaska, marking the tenth-best team total and fifth-best home score. In the victory over Maryland, Rutgers posted a 195.550, which at the time was the ninth-highest team score and still stands as the eighth-best road score for RU.

This season, the Scarlet Knights have also established a new program standard on vault, recording a 49.275 in the home tri meet with Michigan and Alaska. Additionally on vault, the team posted the fourth-best team score in program history with a 49.150 in the home opener and the sixth-best vault mark of 49.075 at Ohio State.
On floor, Rutgers recorded the second-highest team floor mark with a 49.350 in the home tri meet. In its home opener, RU posted a 49.250 as a team on floor, now the fifth-highest mark in the record book. In its home quad on February 11, Rutgers added the sixth-best beam score with a 49.175 team total.
