Tennis Begins Big Ten Play with Wisconsin and Maryland

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis begins Big Ten play with Wisconsin on Tuesday, March 15, meeting in Surprise, Arizona during spring break trips for the squads. Rutgers then returns to the East Coast to visit Maryland on Saturday, March 19.
Rutgers split its doubleheader on March 4, capping the day with a 5-1 victory over Seton Hall. The Scarlet Knights earned the team doubles point and four singles wins in the triumph.
The duo of Tess Fisher and Minchae Kim, then-ranked No. 53 nationally, won at No. 1 doubles, while the pair of Daira Cardenas and Sydney Kaplan won at No. 3 doubles. Cardenas, Fisher, Jackeline Lopez, and Kaplan added the singles victories to lift RU to the win.
Lopez leads the team with seven singles victories in her rookie campaign, owning a 6-1 record at No. 2 singles. Cardenas and Kim follow with six wins of their own in singles play.
The duo of Fisher and Kim continue to the pace the team with a 6-1 record in doubles action.
