Knapton, Trueb Open NCAA Competition on 1M

ATLANTA, Ga. – Rutgers' Abigail Knapton and Savana Trueb opened up diving competition at the 2022 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday on 1M.

Trueb, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colorado, finished 24th overall with a score of 278.60. It was the second-straight season she finished 24th in the event at the NCAA Championships.

Meanwhile, Knapton placed 28th with a score 272.50. The graduate student from Omaha, Nebraska was making her second NCAA appearance on 1M.

Both Scarlet Knights will be back on the boards competing on 3M on Friday, March 18.

Knapton is diving in her fifth NCAA Championship overall and won the 3M crown at NCAA Zones last week.  She was a First Team All-American honoree on 3M in 2021 with an eighth place performance and also landed 15th in 2019, 22nd in 2018 and 30th in 2017 in the event.

Trueb, who is making her second NCAA appearance will be competing on 3M for the first time on the national stage. She finished fourth in the event at zones.

Preliminaries begin at 12:30 p.m. with live results available at divemeets.com. ESPN3 will provide digital broadcast coverage for preliminary and finals sessions.
