PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers'
Abigail Knapton set a new Rutgers record and advanced to finals on platform on Saturday at the NCAA Championships where the Scarlet Knight finished seventh overall.
The Omaha, Nebraska native earned her fifth All-America distinction of her career on platform.
The graduate student was in third out of the preliminary round with a new school record of 333.25. It was the third time Knapton reset the record having previously set new Rutgers benchmarks in a seventh-place finish at the Big Ten Championships and winning the NCAA Zone A title.
In finals, Knapton posted a score of 272.35 for seventh.
In addition to her platform finals appearance, Knapton reached the consolation finals on 3M and finished 28th on 1M.
Teammate
Savana Trueb placed 41st on platform with a score of 218.55.
During the championships, Trueb also finished 24th on 1M and 25th on 3M.
