Kelly Named to 2022 Australia Women’s Lacrosse Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Graduate student Stephanie Kelly was named to the Australian Women's Lacrosse team, announced by the organization. Kelly will compete for Team Australia the 2022 World Lacrosse World Championships, which begin on June 29 in Towson, Maryland.
Kelly has thrived for Rutgers women's lacrosse as a graduate transfer this season with a team-high 44 points on 28 assists and 16 goals in 10 games. Her 28 helpers lead the Big Ten and are third nationally, while her 2.80 assists-per-game average is fifth in the NCAA. The captain has averaged 4.40 points per game and has produced two or more points in nine of RU's 10 games during the 2022 spring campaign.
A four-year standout at St Joseph's University before her arrival "On the Banks", Kelly has combined for 281 career points on 143 career goals and 137 career points. Kelly helped St. Joseph's to 10 wins and an appearance in the A-10 title game during the 2021 campaign, as she finished as the conference leader in points (91) and assists (46) en route to 2021 Atlantic-10 Co-Offensive Player of the Year accolades.
Under the guidance of third-year head coach Melissa Lehman, Rutgers is off to its best start to a season in program history with its 9-1 record to open the 2022 campaign. The Scarlet Knights have defeated three ranked opponents and host No. 13 Michigan on Thursday, March 31 at SHI Stadium. The 7 p.m. ET start is set for a national broadcast on Big Ten Network.
