ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Junior
Savana Trueb and graduate student
Abigail Knapton are NCAA Championships bound on 1M.
The two Scarlet Knights landed among the top five in finals on 1M on Monday at the NCAA Zone A Championships hosted by the US Naval Academy.
Trueb finished third overall totaling a score of 571.30 on her 12 total dives. The Colorado Springs, Colorado native will be making her second NCAA appearance on 1M having placed 24th last season.
Knapton took fourth overall scoring 567.30 on her 12 totals dives. The Omaha, Nebraska product will be advancing to second NCAA appearance on 1M after taking 19th last year.
Overall four of the six Scarlet Knight entries on 1M advanced to finals.
Freshman
Holly Prasanto was just short of being one of the five to qualify for nationals. She placed sixth with a total of 556.60, a mere 2.75 points away from fifth place.
Classmate
Giulia Vittorioso was also a finalist finishing ninth overall with a total of 539.90. She captured a new PR of 283.75 during her six final dives.
Also competing on Mondays were seniors
Jenna Douglass and
Megan Demeo. Douglass placed 32nd with a 244.70 and DeMeo finished 38th with a score of 240.15 during prelims.
On Tuesday, five Scarlet Knights will take to 3M at the NCAA Zone A Championships. Trueb, Knapton, Prasanto, Vittorioso and Douglass will compete for the top five spots that qualify for the 2022 NCAA Championships. Live results will be available at
