EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers tennis dropped a 4-1 final score to Iowa in a Big Ten dual match on Sunday at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.
Tess Fisher and
Minchae Kim started the day with a strong 6-3 victory at first doubles, but the Hawkeyes responded with 6-3 and 6-2 wins at second and third doubles, respectively, to claim the doubles point. Fisher and Kim lead the team with seven doubles victories as a pair in 2021-22 after picking up their first Big Ten win of the season.
Rutgers scored a default win at sixth singles before Iowa grabbed wins in the first through third singles positions to clinch the victory.
The Scarlet Knights remain in New Jersey for the final two home matches of the season against Purdue on Friday, April 15 (12 p.m.) and Indiana on Sunday, April 17 (11 a.m.).
