Women’s Golf Readies for Lady Buckeye Invitational

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's golf returns to action at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. The two-day, three-round tournament takes place on the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State Golf Club, a Par 72, 6,319-yard venue.

Junior Anna-Maria Diederichs secured an individual title for Rutgers women's golf at the Jackrabbit Invitational on March 15 in Boulder City, Nevada. Competing in her first tournament of the spring, Diederichs fired off a seven-under-par 209 (72-66-71) to finish four strokes ahead of the tournament's runner-ups.
After it held the lead and set program records for lowest 18 and 36-hole team totals the day prior during the first and second round, RU finished fourth in the 16-team field with its eight-over-par 872 (297-279-296). Middle Tennessee State won the team title with its even 864 (289-292-283), followed by host South Dakota State (+3) and Missouri State (+7).
Diederichs Named Big Ten Player of the Week
Thanks to her efforts at the Jackrabbit Invitational, Diederichs was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on March 24. Diederichs' win at the Jackrabbit Invite was the first of her career and the first 54-hole title for the Scarlet Knights since Harriet Allsebrook won the 2019 Juli Insker Invitational in Fairfax, California. The Big Ten weekly honor is her third and the first since she earned the accolade last spring after her tied-for-11th result at the Pinetree Invite.

Rutgers heads to the postseason when it competes at the Big Ten Championship from April 22-24 in Pittsburgh. The conference championships will be held at the Fox Chapel Golf Club.
