
Women's Golf Heads to 2022 Big Ten Championship

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's golf is set for the postseason as it competes at the 2022 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships from Friday through Sunday in Pittsburgh. The three-day, three-round tournament takes place at the Fox Chapel Golf Club, a par 71, 6,045-yard venue. First tee is set for Friday at 8:30 a.m. off holes one and nine.

Sophomore Rikke Nordvik produced an even scorecard to finish inside the top 20 as Rutgers women's golf closed out action at the Lady Buckeye Invitational last Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. Nordvik rolled in four birdies to finish with one of the lowest individual 18-hole scores (72) of the final round.
The Scarlet Knights secured their best team scorecard (306) of the tournament to finish ninth in the 10-team field. Host Ohio State won the team title with its 33-over-par 897 (298-307-292), followed by No. 43 Kent State (+48) and No. 23 Illinois (+49). Kent State's Emily Price captured individual honors with her one-under-par 215 (72-75-68).
Last Year at Big Tens
With four of its six starters either sophomores of freshman last spring, the Scarlet Knights finished 12th in the 13-team field at the Big Ten Championships with their final 907 (298-302-307) scorecard. Maeve Rossi was the top individual finisher for Rutgers with her nine-over-par 225 (73-76-76), followed by Anna-Maria Diederichs (226 (76-74-76), who tied for 41st. Rikke Nordvik tied for 52nd with a 229 (74-78-77), while Leigha Devine and Manon Tounalom rounded the team scorecard tied for 56th and 68th, respectively.

The restoration of our Seth Raynor 18-Hole golf course was completed in 2020. The restoration included building 97 new bunkers to shapes as seen on the original 1923 course; sand lines, mowing lines, green shapes, fairway widths were restored to Mr. Raynor's original design; signature greens were restored; 12 new forward tees added; several back tees were pushed further back to lengthen the course.
