PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's soccer sophomore goalkeeper
Aurie Briscoe has been selected to the Puerto Rico Men's National Team for the 2022-23 Concacaf Nation's League.
Briscoe and El Huracán Azul will begin competition in group stage matches during the FIFA match window between June 2-14. A second match window will occur in March 2023.
The Englewood, New Jersey native is a product of PDA and the Combine Academy. He played in one game as a rookie for the Scarlet Knights in 2021, making two saves in his debut against Wisconsin in September. He saw significant time in net during a successful Spring season for Rutgers.
Briscoe led his club squad to consecutive USSDA Atlantic Conference championships in 2019 and 2020, and previously helped his team earn Fall FAB 50 No. 1 rankings in 2018 and 2019. He was selected as a Boys DA Winter Showcase U18/19 Best XI in 2018, and his performance also earned a tryout with PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
He has also achieved in the classroom, where he earned honor roll in every semester in high school and won the Abbot Martin J. Burne Memorial Award for achievement in religious studies while attending St. Benedict's Prep.
