NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Sophomore
Hannah Heideveld and freshman Grieder of Rutgers rowing have been invited to the USRowing Under 23 National Team Selection Camp. Athletes selected through the camps will represent the U.S. at theÂ
2022 World Rowing Under 23 Championships from July 25-30 in Varese, Italy.

Heideveld and Grieder have teamed up to lead the Rutgers Varsity 8 boat to the NCAA Championships this season. They have both earned an invitation to the USRowing sweep camp, which will take place at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. and will select the women's eight and women's four with coxswain that will race in Italy. The selection camps will begin between June 17-19 and run through July 10.

Heideveld followed up her 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year honor with an All-Big Ten First Team award in 2022. She has been in the same seat during the Varsity 8's run to the national regatta for the entire season.

Grieder rose to the top coxswain spot as a rookie after to coming to Rutgers following a stint on the USRowing Junior National Team in 2021. She won gold in the four with coxswain at the 2021 World Rowing Junior Championships. She also finished third in the eight at the 2021 USRowing Southeast Youth Championships, third in the four with coxswain at the 2020 Virtual Head of the Charles, and second in the U17 eight at the 2019 USRowing ODP Summer Cup.

Heideveld, Grieder and the Scarlet Knights are gearing up for the 2022 NCAA Championships from May 27-29 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasora, Fla. The pair have led RU to its third consecutive national regatta, a program-first.
