Avery Balser and Emily Leese lead the Scarlet Knights with Top 3 finishes at No. 16 Oregon State
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Rutgers gymnastics scored a 194.150 on the road at No. 16 Oregon State on Friday evening inside Gill Coliseum. The host GymBeavs won the dual with a score of 197.275.
Avery Balser tied for second on bars with a solid 9.850, connecting on her jaeger and soaring with her double layout on the dismount.
Emily Leese continues to earn her anchor spot on vault, posting a 9.825 on her Yurchenko 1.5, tying for third in the event against the nationally-ranked GymBeavs.
Elsewhere on vault, freshman Valentina Lorente-Garcia continues to improve, posting a young career-high 9.675 on her Yurchenko full.
Gianna Ortiz paced Rutgers on beam with a 9.800, highlighted by a clean double back handspring to loso leading into a stuck gainer full dismount.
Emily Wood scored a 9.850 on the floor to lead the Scarlet Knights, starting with a Rudi to loso and closing with a clean front 2/1.
