IOWA CITY, Iowa – Rutgers football (6-4, 3-4) lost on the road to No. 22 Iowa (8-2, 5-2), 22-0, on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium.
The Scarlet Knights kept the Hawkeyes grounded early, forcing a missed field goal and intercepting a pass in the red zone in the first half. Iowa rallied for 19 second-half points to close out the victory.
WR Ian Strong registered three catches and set a career high with 47 receiving yards. On defense, LB Deion Jennings posted 11 tackles and DB Max Melton produced a tackle-for-loss with an interception.

The Hawkeyes got on the board first with a 32-yard field goal with 2:50 remaining in the first half.
While they would get the ball back and threaten to score again, Melton intercepted a pass at the six-yard line to keep Iowa off the scoreboard and keep the game at 6-0 heading into halftime.

Drew Stevens converted his second field goal of the game for the Hawkeyes, this one a 43-yard kick with 4:18 left in the third quarter, to make it 6-0 in favor of Iowa.
The Hawkeyes added a pair of touchdowns and a field goal in the fourth to close out the win in Iowa City.
