PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers' field hockey's
Iris Langejans was named by the NFCHA to its Senior All-Star team, the organization announced on Wednesday. Â Members of the team were nominated by their NFHCA member coach and were chosen based on their career accomplishments.Â
Rutgers' has been represented on the Senior Team in five of the past six seasons, with Langejans joining Gianna Glatz (2021), Katie Larmour (2021), Gracey Butsack (2021), Austyn Cuneo (2019) and Linde van Schaik (2018) as recent honorees from the Scarlet Knights.
Langejans had a standout season for RU, where she was named the Big Ten Player of the Year. The native of Almelo, Netherlands was also a unanimous selection to the First Team All-Big Ten listing and was on the NFHCA Collegiate Watch List. In 20 games, she collected one goal and six assists from the backfield, impacting play at all ends of the field. In three years in a Scarlet Knight uniform, Langejans has played and started in 61 games, with five goals and 15 assists. She is a two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection, and last year was also named First Team All-Region and Third Team All-American.
