PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is currently accepting nominations for the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame.
The deadline to submit nominations to be considered for the Class of 2024 fall induction is January 31, 2024. All nominations received after that date will be put into consideration for the Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

To be eligible, an inductee must satisfy the qualifications in one of the following five sections:
STUDENT-ATHLETE: Nominees must have lettered in a varsity or intercollegiate sport(s) and their athletic eligibility must have been expired for at least five (5) years.
TEAM: Team nominees must have distinguished themselves both on and off the field during a specific season with at least five (5) passed since the season under consideration. Team nominees must have achieved at least one (1) of the following for consideration:
- Undefeated Regular Season
- Conference Championship
- Won an NCAA Championship or advanced significantly in the NCAA Tournament
- Competed in a major bowl
COACH: Nominees must have coached a varsity or intercollegiate sport at Rutgers for at least five (5) years. A period of five (5) years must have elapsed since the nominee ended his/her coaching career at Rutgers (exceptions can be made for retirements).
ATHLETIC ADMINISTRATOR: Nominees must be former Rutgers University athletic department administrators who successfully distinguished themselves by demonstrating exceptional leadership and character. They must have shown great loyalty to the university community and must have demonstrated a passion for success of Rutgers athletics while providing a vision for the future. A period of five (5) years must have passed since the administrator ended his/her career (exceptions can be made for retirements).
SPECIAL CONTRIBUTOR: Nominees may be any individuals who contributed to the successes of Rutgers intercollegiate athletics but does not FULLY meet the criteria of Student-Athlete, Coach or Athletic Administrator.
Consideration will be given as follows and is based off the lack of statistics/record keeping and ever-changing landscape of college athletics:
- Old Guard/Impact – Individuals or teams who competed 50 years or more prior to the current selection year, who have excelled in their respective sport(s) but played at a time when stats were not well preserved, but where the accolades or stats available from that period can be judged on existing or available statistics, combination of athletic performance, and testimonials of coaches, teammates or opponents.
- Trailblazers or pioneers of a sport, as individuals or as a team, who had a major, noteworthy, historical impact on their particular sport at Rutgers.
- Game-changers - Individuals who participated in athletics at Rutgers University and have continued to make an impact on the program, or have brought honor to Rutgers Athletics and/or significantly impacted Rutgers Athletics through their association as a former student-athlete.
