Box Score HANOVER, N.H. — The Rutgers women's tennis team concluded day one at the Big Green Tournament, hosted by Dartmouth, on Friday. The Scarlet Knights took on student-athletes from UMass, Yale, and Dartmouth, collecting a total 10 wins.
 
Doubles
 
RU began the event by taking on UMass in doubles competitions. The Scarlet Knights faced the Minutewomen on three courts, claiming two wins.
 
The pair of Yana Gurevich and Naomi Karki picked up a 6-3 win over the Minutewomen's Amelia Tye and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul to begin the day.
 
Jackeline Lopez and Chloe Brown followed their success, defeating UMass' Mariana Campino and Compassion Tsai, 6-2.
 
Rutgers then faced Yale in doubles play, with three pairs of Scarlet Knights taking on competitors from the Bulldogs.
 
Tara Chilton and Minchae Kim cruised to a 6-1 win over Yale's Mirabelle Brettkelly and Jamie Kim.
 
Daira Cardenas and Arina Valitova also picked up a victory over the Bulldogs, defeating Sophia Zaslow and Rebecca Lynn, 7-6 (2).
 
Singles
 
The Scarlet Knights competed in singles play against UMass and Dartmouth on Friday, earning seven wins in 10 total matches.
 
RU earned five wins over the Minutewomen in singles play. Gurevich and Lopez were the two Scarlet Knights to record straight-set wins over Tsai and Mariana Campino, respectively.
 
Chilton battled to a  6-1, 2-6, 10-6 victory over Ella Faessler.
 
Nguyen and Karki both earned comeback wins over UMass to close out the matches between schools. Nguyen defeated Amelia Tye, 4-6, 6-4, 10-5, and Karki came back to down Alexandra O'Brien, 4-6, 6-2, 10-8.
 
The Scarlet Knights then faced Dartmouth in three singles matches, earning one victory over the Big Green.
 
Valitova cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Ameliija Swaffer-Selff to close out the day for Rutgers.
