Women’s Lacrosse Reveals 2024 Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse unveiled its 2024 schedule on Tuesday. The 16-game slate features nine home dates, seven games with ranked opponents and six Big Ten Conference foes.

The Scarlet Knights face seven teams that finished ranked in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll, including No. 1 Northwestern, No. 10 Stony Brook, No. 11 Maryland, No. 12 Michigan, No. 16 Army, No. 17 Johns Hopkins, and No. 22 Penn State. All seven also advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament, with the Wildcats capturing the 2023 NCAA Championship.

All dates are subject to change. Times for all 16 games, as well as any television designations, will be released at a later date.

RU opens the season on Saturday, February 10 against Manhattan, and hosts Monmouth (Feb. 21) and Army (Feb. 24) at SHI Stadium. Rutgers also faces Georgetown (Feb. 17) and Princeton (Feb. 28) on the road to close out the month.

The Scarlet Knights play four consecutive home games in March, which includes matchups with Oregon (March 3), Penn State (March 9), Michigan (March 14) and Yale (March 17). RU finishes the month with road games at Maryland (March 23) and Northwestern (March 30).

Rutgers plays five games in April, which includes Big Ten Conference contests with Johns Hopkins (April 6) and at Ohio State (April 18). A trip to Long Island on April 9 to face Stony Brook – which the Scarlet Knights defeated last year for the first time in program history – represents one of three out-of-conference games along with Hofstra (April 3) and Vermont (April 21).

The Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals take place on April 27 at conference sites. The Big Ten Semifinals and Championship will be held May 2-4 at Northwestern.

Playing one of the toughest schedules in the country under head coach Melissa Lehman, Rutgers finished with eight victories and its third consecutive Big Ten Tournament Semifinal appearance in 2023. The Scarlet Knights picked up wins against three ranked opponents – No. 6 Stony Brook, No. 16 Johns Hopkins, and No. 19 Jacksonville – and closed the season receiving votes in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll.

The Scarlet Knights return six of their top 10 goal scorers from last season, including three-time All-American and the program's all-time leading scorer Cassidy Spilis. Spilis is one of four captains for the 2024 season, along with All-Big Ten selection Jessica Beneducci, Sophia Cardello and Emalie Clothier.
