Gymnastics Competes at Big Ten Championships

Stephanie Zannella’s 9.925 on beam is seventh in the Big Ten
CORALVILLE, Iowa – Rutgers gymnastics scored a 195.125 at the 2023 Big Ten Championships on Saturday at Xtream Arena. It is the third-highest Big Ten Championships score for Rutgers since joining the conference in 2015.
Junior captain Stephanie Zannella tied her career-high anchoring the beam squad with a 9.925, which was in second place after the six-team Session I. Zannella finished seventh in the Big Ten on beam after the evening session out of 60 gymnasts.
Zannella's 9.925, joined by All-Big Ten First Teamer Hannah Joyner's 9.900 led the Scarlet Knights to a 49.225 on beam at the conference championship meet. That mark is tied for seventh all-time in program history. Emily Leese recorded a career-high 9.850, while Jacqueline Manifold (9.875) and Elia Aird (9.675) rounded out the beam score.
Senior Jordyn Zieden-Weber paced Rutgers on bars with a 9.725. Emily Wood guided the floor unit with an energetic 9.875, and Leese led vault with an anchoring 9.825.
Rutgers has individuals in the running for NCAA Regionals, which will be determined during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, March 20 at 12 p.m. on NCAA.com.
