STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
THE RUNDOWN
  • Rutgers broke the scoreless stalemate in the bottom of the fifth off Morgan Smith's two-run double to left.
  • After limiting the Boilermakers to two hits and stranding five on base, Purdue responded to the Scarlet Knight lead with three hits and three walks in the sixth to pull ahead. With a pair in scoring position, Becca Edwards singled to right field put the visitors onto the scoreboard while two batters later an infield single to the circle from Jordyn Ramos tied the game up at 2-2. With the bases loaded and two outs, Jade Moy walked in Alivia Meeks for what would be the game-winning run.
