Wrestling Finishes Top Five in National Attendance for Seventh Consecutive Season

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – For the seventh consecutive season, Rutgers wrestling finished top five in national attendance for the 2022-23 home dual season. The Scarlet Knights averaged 5,018 fans per home match at Jersey Mike's Arena this season, which was fourth in the country and third in the Big Ten behind Iowa and Penn State. It marks the third time since 2018 RU has finished fourth or higher in home attendance.

The 5,018 fans per home match at Jersey Mike's Arena was the program's highest home attendance average since the 2018-19 campaign, when Rutgers averaged 5,038. Its 7,848 fans in attendance against No. 1 Penn State on Feb. 10 this past season marked the second-largest home crowd for a wrestling match at the arena in school history.

Rutgers finished No. 22 in the final 2022-23 NWCA Coaches Poll, the 10th final top-25 finish for the Scarlet Knights under head coach Scott Goodale. RU produced seven NCAA qualifiers for the second consecutive season and qualified five or more student-athletes to the national tournament for the ninth consecutive season.
