Softball Falls To Ohio State In First Round Of Big Ten Tournament

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Just like the regular season series, it was a close, back-and-forth battle between Rutgers softball and Ohio State in the opening game of the first round of the 2023 Big Ten Softball Tournament at Eichelberger Field.

Rutgers, the 11-seed, claimed the lead twice, with a pair of runs in the top of the third and fifth, but Ohio State responded with home runs each time to tie the game. In the bottom of the seventh, however, the sixth-seeded Buckeyes walked it off with a three-run home run to advance to the second round of the tournament with a 7-4 win.

The Scarlet Knights dropped to 32-25 on the year
