May 02 | General
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers Athletics saw seven programs earn a perfect 1,000 multi-year score in the latest release of the Academic Progress Rate (APR) report on Tuesday by the NCAA.
The seven programs to post a perfect 1,000 multi-year score were men's cross country, men's golf, gymnastics, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, tennis and volleyball. Nine programs had multi-year APR scores of 995 or above, as field hockey (996) and softball (995) also placed highly.
Ten Rutgers programs are ahead of the NCAA average of 984, while 14 programs recorded a score of 980 or higher. All Rutgers programs far outpaced the 930-benchmark required by the NCAA, and none registered a multiyear APR below 950.
This report is based on NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) data submitted by the institution for the 2018-19, 2019 -20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport.
Rutgers was well recognized through the year for their successes in the classroom. 114 student-athletes were named to the 2022 Fall Academic All-Big Ten listing, and 45 more student-athletes were on the winter list.
