PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Join the action at SHI Stadium on Sept. 30 as Rutgers football hosts Wagner for $1 Slice Day, presented by Pizza Hut. The game time will be announced later.

Slices of pizza will sell for $1 at concession stands inside the stadium through the end of the first quarter. In addition, The Rutgers Boardwalk will join in on the fun with its first-ever PizzaFest. Look out for pizza rice balls, pizza donuts, pizza ice cream, pizza cheesesteaks, pizza coffee and more pizza. There will be a pizza-making class for fans and a gourmet pizza display.

The special-edition "Rutgers Pizza" t-shirt will be thrown out to fans during the game.



$1 Slice Day is the fifth announced theme of the 2023 season, which includes seven home games. The Back to the Birthplace Game (Sunday, Sept. 3), Blackout (Sept. 9), Scarlet Out/R Community Day (Sept. 16) and Homecoming & Family Weekend (Oct. 14) were previously revealed, with two more promotional releases to come.

The day will feature recognition of the 2023 Rutgers Hall of Fame class at halftime. Stay tuned for more information regarding the announcement of inductees. Halftime also showcases the 300-member strong Marching Scarlet Knights as they continue preparation for a national performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. In addition, preliminary details on 2024 Rutgers Day will be released and the Scarlet Knights will promote awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy through Coach To Cure MD.

Along the The Rutgers Boardwalk, stop by for giveaways, including "Beat Wagner" buttons, posters, shakers and the fourth edition of the new comic series. Scarlet Knight Way is the place to visit the top food trucks in New Jersey, experience free rides, games, interactive experiences, prizes and live entertainment. Get to The Rutgers Boardwalk early for the pregame parade and pep rally featuring the Marching Scarlet Knights, Spirit Team, Sir Henry, the Scarlet Knight horse "Excalibur" with the Knight and the football team arrival. The Rutgers Boardwalk and PizzaFest will open four hours before kickoff and the Scarlet Walk takes place approximately 2.5 hours prior to game time.



Local students from across the area will be in attendance through the RU Reading program. Students who complete the program will receive a ticket to the game plus a personal pan pizza. Take advantage of the initiative this summer to keep children engaged and learning over the break.

Student season ticket holders will be served free pizza pregame inside the stadium.

Season tickets are on sale for the home slate this fall, which features four games at SHI Stadium in September. Season ticket holders receive a one-time, 15 percent discount to the Rutgers Team Shop online, while gaining the same discount in-stadium multiples times throughout the year.
