PISCATAWAY, N.J. – From August 7-17, the Rutgers women's basketball team will travel to Europe for a foreign tour of Greece and Croatia to cap its summer. The Scarlet Knights will immerse themselves in the culture through educational tours, sightseeing excursions, local cuisine and authentic experiences. 

RU is scheduled to play three games, one on each leg of the trip, starting in Athens, Greece before heading to Split and Dubrovnik, Croatia.  

Rutgers will kick off its journey in the historical city of Athens, where it will tour ancient sites such as the Acropolis, Parthenon and Corinth Canal in addition to a boat tour of nearby islands and visiting local beaches.  

From there, the team will take a short flight to Croatia, beginning in Split to see scenes such as the entrance to Diocletian's Palace and Krka National Park.  

The Scarlet Knights will spend the final days of the foreign tour in Dubrovnik, taking a cable car ride overlooking the city and a boat tour of the Elaphiti Islands, among other activities.  

"Our trip to Greece and Croatia is another opportunity for our student-athletes to have a unique educational experience, which is an essential part of our program," head coach Coquese Washington said. "We will learn about different cultures, develop stronger relationships with each other, and cap it off with competitive basketball games. It is a trip that will provide lasting memories and have a tremendous and lasting impact on the lives of our players."
